What each student should achieve
During this session you will learn how to create a silk organza rose from a pattern handed down from the Queen Mother's Milliner and also how to make a bonded leaf.
Materials and techniques covered
- Finding the true bias of a fabric
- Cutting out rose petals from a paper pattern
- How to manipulate and roll fabric
- Creating stamens and leaves
- Learning bonding and shaping
Silk organza will be provided in ivory and black. If you prefer to bring your own choice of colour, you will need approx. 0.5m of fabric.
